Each year, some 1,000 runners, walkers and bikers take part in the run. Six-week "Learn to Run/Learn to Walk" clinics have been organized by the Run for Mom since 1999 to help participants prepare for the event.

The program is run entirely by volunteers with support from Sport Yukon since 2003.

INTERMEDIATE SCHEDULE RUN FOR MOM PDF File Icon

  • Begin each training session with a 5 minute brisk walk to warm up your muscles
  • Carry water and take a sip during walk breaks
  • Minimum of 3 runs per week with 1 day in between each run
