The Run for Mom has received overwhelming support from the Yukon community, each year and throughout the year, too.
- Each year at the Run for Mom Learn to Run/Learn to Walk clinics, some 80 people get motivated to get moving thanks to the dedication of half a dozen group leaders (many from Athletics Yukon) who volunteer their time and expertise. The free clinic starts 6 weeks prior to the Run for Mom to prepare people for finishing the 5 km route. The group leaders, many of whom have volunteered at the clinics for many years, make the clinics possible. Their energy and enthusiasm for sport and their continued support for the Run for Mom are so appreciated … by hundreds of runners in Whitehorse and by the Run for Mom committee! The 2011 group leaders are: Don White, Christine Paradis, Sue Bogle, Pamela Bangart, Rodney Hulstein, Tanya Astika, Bonnie Love and Arlene Ogden.
- A week after the 2010 Run for Mom event, Peyton (7), Ryder (5) and Emery (2) Twardochleb decided to do what they could to help. They set up their Holly Hobbie table in front of their house in Copper Ridge and sold lemonade and cookies to their friends, neighbours and family who came from all across the city. Their sign told their thirsty patrons that all of the proceeds of the day were to be donated to Run for Mom and the next week, their donation was brought to the hospital. Thank you, Peyton, Ryder and Emery – your contribution made a difference!

- Ann Asquith and her daughter Sarah, proprietors of The Studio in Granger, are organizing an Arts and Crafts show/fair at the studio on Saturday, May 7th (the day before the Run for Mom). They are going to donate 10% of all the proceeds from the Boutique that day to the Run for Mom. Any person coming in to the Boutique on Saturday, May 7th wearing their Run for Mom T shirt or with their pledge form will receive 10% off their purchase of lululemon product. 2011 is the second year that they have supported the Run for Mom – thank you Ann and Sarah!
- And thanks to the staff and students at Christ the King Elementary and Grey Mountain Primary School who continue to support Run for Mom each year.
- This year, Grey Mountain is holding a Pizza Lunch for students to raise money for Run for Mom, and Christ the King students will be doing their own mini-version of the walk. Run for Mom appreciates the continued support.
